Monitor fun…

Today I had a call from a client; some joker had set the monitor to display at 90 degrees.

First, it should be understood that I know well this client and I would not have said this to an “unknown” 😉

For a laugh, I told them that this was a known issue and that Microsoft had released a supported technical article that basically explained how to position your monitor on its side.   I did not think they would fall for it, but they did.   They now have a CRT sitting on its side in the office.   Classic!

I’ll call them tomorrow with the real fix.

Lol, that is a good one.

But is it that weird to have a monitor positioned like that? We also have it at work. That is because they are mounted like that in the simulator and the development guys did not want to bend their head all the time when looking at the monitors in the control room of the same display. So these monitors are nicely turned 90 degrees.

    haha brilliant…

Funny you should mention that, but I got a similar support call today – a user in here had managed to find the intel utility for the onboard graphics card that does the same.

Took me a few mins to twig that in this case it hadn’t been done in the monitor settings.
