Page Numbering Word 2007

Are you trying to insert Word 2007 page numbering and have no option in the sub menu?

You were running Word 2007 beta right….

Here is the fix:

Click on the Start Button, select Run

Type the following: “%appdata%MicrosoftDocument Building Blocks”

This will open a folder and in it you will see a 1033 folder.  In this you will see the “Building Blocks.dotx”.

Delete that file.   Rerun word, and all will be ok!

I appreciate your help. I went from beta to trial.

Why is Microsoft so bloody stupid and incompetent, not to mention downright un-user-friendly?

You are the man. I reinstalled the damn program over and over because microsoft support told me to. You solved the problem in 10 seconds. You truly are a god among men.

However, in microsoft’s defense. Word 2007 is a pretty great program.

Thank you thank you thank you. Have a paper due this week and I’m getting the formatting set up and the page numbering was driving me nuts. Glad I’m doing this early or I would have been frazzled trying to figure it out late at night.

I can’t thank you enough. I wasted a lot of time and got a lot of bum steers from Microsoft on getting the page numbering to work in Word 2007.

That workaround doesn’t work for me. I cannot insert pagenumber and there is no quick style sets at all. There is no folder 1033, but a folder 1031. If I delete the file it doesn’t help. MS Office repair does not help as well. Any ideas appreciated..

I found this folder but was told that I couldn’t delete it because it said it was open. So far as I know it isn’t open so now what to do. I have a paper due tonight. My computer tech did not know either. I had another friend work on it for two hours the last time I needed it done and now I can’t remember all she did. Frustrating. I would move all this to Open Office but have tables that would be a problem.
