Final Update: XP SP2 – ActiveX "Add-on" Blocking – Companyweb – OWA Issues Resolution

Updated 5th January 2005 after final testing with Microsoft (I have also removed the other blog post on the same issue so as not to confuse)

Today I got the magic email from Microsoft on what CLSID’s to allow to get RWW and OWA working on XP SP2 Machines that are working under an “Add-on” IE policy on your domain.

RWW Specific

{3050f4f8-98b5-11cf-bb82-00aa00bdce0b} – Microsoft Html Component

{B45FF030-4447-11D2-85DE-00C04FA35C89} – SearchAssistantOC

WSS specific:

{3050F819-98B5-11CF-BB82-00AA00BDCE0B} – HtmlDlgSafeHelper Class
{47B0DFC7-B7A3-11D1-ADC5-006008A5848C} – DEInsertTableParam Class

Office ActiveX Specific

{E18FEC31-2EA1-49A2-A7A6-902DC0D1FF05} – Office 11 name.dll

Now you can secure down the network from installing the “nasties” and keep your SBS2003 network running smooth.

Thanks to Dayne in Microsoft PSS for putting the pressure on to get this information!

This is a great article. I am getting an error when opening an Infopath form from a SharePoint site. Any idea what GUID I need to add to the allowed controls in order to make this work?

The error is "This feature requires Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or later and a Windows SharePoint Services-compatible XML editor such as Microsoft Office Infopath.

    Thanks,

    Steve

Yes, there is a way, but oooooh boy, it is messy.

I will try to write it up here, but if you get a copy of Windows IT Pro Magazine (Jan 2006) the article will be in that. (I Hope)
